Local Band Hits the Road for Breast Cancer Awareness
Dayton, Ohio - August 18, 2014 - Pink Beards for Breast Cancer are touring the country holding concerts to raise funds for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, American Cancer Society.
“ In 2010, I found out that a good friend of mine (in Tuscaloosa) mother was diagnosed with BC. I wanted to do something to show support, so I dyed my beard pink and posted it on FaceBook. ” says Michael Compton, Founder, “ As a Touring Musician, I have friends all over U.S.A. and Europe, and the response was astounding.”
Compton created an event with music and merchandise to support the cause in 2010. The first concerts were held in Panama City, Fl and Springfield, Ohio. The Pink Beards for Breast Cancer following has grown since, events have been held every year since in 3 states and 4 cities.
Tour stops will include music from MFC Trio with national supporting acts, Pink Beard merchandise, raffles for local goods and services, and the "Best Pink Beardo" Contests.
